Benoy Matthew is an experienced and highly respected musculoskeletal physiotherapist with over 25 years of clinical practice across the UK, Asia, and the Middle East. A qualified physiotherapist since 1998, Benoy has built a distinguished career spanning hospital care, private practice, and elite sporting environments.
He is currently working as an Advanced Physiotherapist within the NHS and in private practice, specialising in the treatment of complex musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions, with particular expertise in chronic hip, groin, and pelvic health disorders. He is also a qualified musculoskeletal sonographer, integrating advanced diagnostic ultrasound into patient care to deliver precise, evidence-based treatment strategies.
Since 2012, Benoy has been a leading advocate and practitioner of Focused Shockwave Therapy. He serves as a UK lead Shockwave Educator, delivering specialist training to physiotherapists, osteopaths, podiatrists, chiropractors, sports therapists, and general practitioners across the country. His reputation as a clinical educator is built on hands-on expertise and a passion for innovation in non-invasive, drug-free treatment approaches.
Benoy’s special interest in managing chronic groin and pelvic pain has also led him to pioneer the use of Shockwave Therapy in men’s sexual health, successfully treating conditions such as erectile dysfunction and chronic pelvic pain syndrome.
